Comments, Comments, Comments
Today we are going to continue working on our comments. I read
through your posts from last week and was pleased to see that everyone
posted at least one comment for a fellow blogger. How did it feel
to get a comment back on one of your posts? Exciting, Great,
Rewarding?! This Blog is beginning to serve a real purpose in your
writing classroom and I want to make sure that the comments serve a
purpose too. I've created a mnemonic to help us remember the
parts of a helpful comment. Today I would like you to choose two
Blog posts from different students to comment on and use this mnemonic
to help guide your
comment.
Be Specific & Kind

Blogs for Everyone!
Today we're going to login to our individual blogs using our first name (check the blog list to see your login name) and our Cport Central passwords. Once we're all logged in, we'll explore the environment and learn how to post our writing. This "Portal" is for only you and your fellow Room 204 classmates, so feel comfortable to post first drafts, finished writing, poetry or even ask for advice on how to improve or expand your writing pieces. The goal today is to get at least one piece of writing posted to your individual blog.

Let's Get Started!
Here we go, folks!
We have our own blog! When we come to the computer lab, you will have a chance to read pieces written by your peers, and offer feedback. At the beginning, you probably will want to work on getting several of your own pieces up on the site. After that you can spend more time reading and commenting on others' work.
At this point in time, we are the only ones with access to give comments to the stories. We have talked about, and will continue to talk about what kind of feedback is best, kind, critical, and useful. You guys are really good at it in spoken words. Now it's time to put it into writing. I hope you enjoy our blog!
